In the meantime we have purchased some more special cats, among which a lilac point British Shorthair, a cinnamon British Shorthair queen and our own British Blue stud Titus. But our most special cat is our own Selkirk Fold Picabo. Her mother is our Scottish Fold Pearl and her father is a Selkirk Rex. Our Selkirk Fold is special because she inherited her father’s curls and her mother’s folded ears.

Silver It all began in 2002 when we purchased our first pet silver tabby “Silver” a Neutered male cross between a white Persian cat and a housecat.

He was an "only cat" for one week until we purchased a little blue girl whom we called Jet. She appeared to be a Russian blue female. It took them a week to become close friends.

In 2003 I regretted the fact that I had neutered both of them and decided to buy two more cats so that I could start breeding again which I had done 20 years earlier with two Persian cats called Anton and Rietje. We decided they had to be British shorthairs because they look like teddy bears. The first one we were able to buy was a lilac queen called Pepper and a bit later on she was followed by a chocolate male stud cat called Youk.

One year later I first saw a Scottish Fold and I was immediately impressed by this cat. The fact that I could also breed Folds with my British stud only strenghtened my feeling that I just had to have a Fold as well. My first Scottish Fold was called Purdy a blue queen. She was succeeded by a new blue queen called Pearl in 2005.

In October that year I came across a Highland Fold that was for sale. I loved the fact that my Scottish Folds had these weird ears which made them so special and their appearance so different. Can you imagine how I felt when I saw this cat which was long haired as well! I thought, and still think she is lovely and she became our blue Highland Fold queen and we called her Posh.

Cats are not the only animals that live at Villa Volta Cattery, we also have a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, which is actually a dog called Penny and a Norfolk terrier named Peanut. She has got her own site, because we would like to breed with her as well.
